Title:   The hunger games 
Age suitable for:  10 years and up
Setting:  District 12 and District 11
The plot outline:  The reaping or the hunger games is a terrifying reality T.V  show that is about to take place.    Twelve girls and twelve boys are forced to appear in the hunger games.    Sixteen year old Katniss Everdeen steps forward to take her sister's place in the hunger games but  she sees it as a death sentence.
Main characters:  Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark.
My chosen character:  Katniss Everdeen is my chosen character because taking her sisters place in the hunger games is very brave.
Why you chose this book and what your ratings are:  I chose this book because I thought that it would be a change from what I usually read.  Ratings:9/10 because one of my favourite characters died and there is heaps of kissing.

The title of the book that I chose is Matilda written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quin Blake. 

The main characters are Matilda, Miss Honey, Mr wormwood, Ms wormwood, Michael and Miss Trunchbull.

The plot: A girl named Matilda has teached herself how to read and do times tables.

I reconmend this book to ages 8 and up.

I chose this book beacuse it looked interesting.

My rating is 10 out of 10.

Plot: A boy called Cosmo Hill lived in a boys orphanage where they did horrible chemical experiments on the boys when chance came to escape he ran away where things go fatally wrong he feels his life force being sucked away by a strange blue parisite a group called the supernaturalists blast the creature and save him. 

Main characters: Cosmo, Stefan, Mona, and Ditto. 

Why I chose my characters: Ditto, Mona, and Stefan are the group, but it  is from Cosmo's point of view 

My rating out of this book is 10/10

The Adventures of Ook and Gluk Kung Fu Cavemen from the Future

Two kids are best friends fighting against Mr Gobnstopper in two worlds, the present and the past.

Main characters.  Ook and Gluk 
I recommend this book.  It is very interesting and funny.

Setting: A little cottage by a beautiful beach.

Plot (story): A little girl called Saphire went into a strange under water world called Ingo.  But what happened to her family was frightening and Saphire had lots of questions about her Dad.

Main characters: Saphire, Conor, Dad and Mum.

My chosen character: Roger, he persuaded Mum to let Saphire have a dog called Sadie.

Why I chose this book and what my ratings are: I woud say about 9\10 because it did get a bit boring!

MY CHOSEN CHARACTER:MY CHOSEN CHARACTER IS ALLIE BECAUSE SHE IS REALLY COOL AND SHE HAS A GREAT IDEA.


MY RATING: MY RATING IS 9/10 BECAUSE IT'S A GOOD BOOK BUT I FELT SOME PARTS WERE BORING.

Chapter 1 Awesome ancient Greece
I like it because it has a good story about Aztecs.

Chapter 2 middle aged England
I like it because it has a lot of history!

Chapter 3 Challenging China
It is cool because it shows who ruled China before the 1800s.

the charicters are the Greeks, Aztecs, England and the Chinese .

I recommend this book for people that like history and battles.

Lake Rotoiti 

We went to lake Rotoiti on Tuesday 22 of May which took 3 quarters of an hour. George vomited on the floor of the bus and made me want to vomit too. When we got there we had morning tea then we went for a walk in the forest. We went to panels and answered some questions and then we left to the conservation building and watched an eel movie then we went back to school and went home at 4.30.pm.

Favourite Antarctic Animal 

Elephant seals are my favourite animal because they snort and fight by standing then biting each other's necks they weigh 4 tonnes. When the males fight in the breeding season most babies get squashed under the males' weight.  I got this information from David Gawith.By Bailey

TREASURE ISLAND

This story starts in the Admiral Benbow,  an inn.  Jim  Hawkins (played by Quin) works there.  Billy bones (played by Shanti ) comes to stay.  He has a map.  He was once a pirate, a member of Captain  Flint's crew.  He is visited by Black  Dog (played by Stevie  )who fights him.  Then the evil Blind pew  (played by Sasha ) comes and scares him to death.

Jim gets the map . He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (played by Charlie ) Squire Trelawney (played by Sarah ),  Mr Dance (played by Shannen ) and hire a ship called the Hispaniola.  The captain is Captain  Smollett(played by Makayla ) who gets Long John Silver  (played by Madison ) to collect a crew.  Long John Silver is evil and one of Captain Flint's pirates.  He collects all the other pirates and away they sail.

On the trip Jim  hears of a plot to kill the goodies. When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade. The baddies go in search of the treasure.  An old pirate called Ben Gunn (played by Zion ) who has been marooned, arrives and joins the goodies.

Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island.  The pirates have nowhere to go.  There's a big fight.  The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn  who they think is a Ghost of Captain Flint.  Black Dog screams horribly...

They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and go back to England.

My favourite part was the fight because it's cool.

My favourite character was Jim because he is the main character. 

My part in the show was singing.

Olympics                                            

The 2012 Olympics were held in London in the UK. Every four years the Olympics is held somewhere

in the world. In 2016 the Olympics will be held in Rio (Brazil).  Did you no Valerie Adams had a silver medal but the person oh got the gold medal could not have                                   

ANTARCTICA

On Tuesday, a person called Nick came to talk to us about Antarctica.  He had been down there for six weeks.  Nick showed us some photos , one was of a seal poking its head out of the fishing hole that they dug with a bulldozer. There were about seven of them that went to Antarctica. There was a storm just before they left

Antarctica was the last continent to be discovered.   Explorers and scientists long suspected its existence but did not actually confirm it until the 19th century. 

My Trip to India by Amandeep.

I missed the class trip to Nelson because my Mum and I went to India to visit my relatives. We flew from Nelson to Auckland. We had to get up really early. We had to wait at Auckland airport for a while before we caught a plane to Hong Kong. We arrived in Hong Kong and were there for a night in the airport. Then we  went to New Delhi where a relative picked us up and drove us by car to my uncle's house. We stayed at my nanas house one night and in the monning I went to see my nana's dog Jony.   It scratched me but it was going to bite me as soon as I ran away from it.  I had a ride on my nana's horse and my nana was near me in case I fell off.  The colour  of the horse  was white. We visited lots of relatives.  When we came home (it happened  on Thursday, March 8th) and saw my mum's cousin who got his phone stuck in the brakes and when he went to get it the car crashed. He had to kick the door of the car and he got glass in his head. When he told us, he said that it was just a little crash but he showed us the car and its  top  was broken.
They showed me my foot prints from when I was little.   They were by the out side door.   I saw heaps there. They have chickens,  five of them and they have birds on the roof.    I went to my uncle's house where I saw my three cousins then I went to their farm.   They had some cows and a white bull. I saw my friends. Their house is in front of the farm. I remembered that they don't have any chickens this time.   I had been to their place before when they had them but they sold them to get money.
Then I played with my cousins.   I had to think what we should play.   Golden Temple!!   It was fun there.  I saw golden fish and my mum told me that if you see the fish that has something on his nose that means that the god fish.   Then we saw one so we fed them heaps of food because they were hungry.  At the end there was no food left so went to get food from the shop.
 One day we went  shopping and I got heaps of clothes and dresses.   They were so pretty and my mum was telling me to get new shoes so I got one pair but they broke.  When we got back we were going to get something to drink so I  went to look in the cupboard but there were no drinks so I went to the shop.  The next day we went to some relatives,  to my mum's aunty. I really enjoyed my holiday to India.
