I think we have the Turangawaewae festival because we celebrate people from all around the world. There were two bouncy castles and horse rides. My favourite thing was the horse ride.

TREASURE ISLAND
This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn. Jim Hawkin (played by Quin) works there. Billy Bones (played by Shanti) comes to stay. He has a treasure cheat. He was once a pirate, a member of Captian Flint's crew. He is visited by Black Dog (played by Stevie)who fights him. Then the evil Blind pew (played by Sasha) comes and scares him to death.
Jim gets the map. He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (played by Charlie) Squire Trelawney (played by Sarah), Mr Dance (played by Shannen) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola. The captain is Captain Smollett (played by Makayla ) who gets Long John Silver (played by Madison) to collect a crew. Long John Silver is evil and one of Captain Flint's pirates. He collects all the other pirates and away they sail.
On the trip Jim hears of a plot to kill all the goodies. When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade. The baddies go in search of the treasure. An old pirate called Ben Gunn (played by Zion) who has been marooned, arrives and joins the goodies.
Jim takes off and sails the ship around the Island. The pirates have nowhere to go. There's a big fight. The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn who they think is a ghost of Captain Flint. Ben Gunn screams horribly...
They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and sail back to England.
My favourite part was when Billy Bones came to the Admiral Benbow

OLYMPICS

The first modern games opened in Athens on 6 April, 1898. Only 13 countries sent teams to these games there were athletics, cycling, fencing gymnastics, lawn tennis, weigh-lifting, wrestling, swimming and shooting. The Olympics are held every 4 years. There were no Olympic games in 1916 because in was the World war 1 and there were none in 1940 and 1944 because it was the World war 2. This year the Olympic game was held in London. NZ won 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. Click here to see a video.

ROCK THE HOUSE
I am in the Rock the House choir. John and Paulette are in charge. The soloists are Jason and Makayla. Jason is singing Falling Slowly and Makayla is singing We are the World. The show is going for three days. On Tuesday is Upper Moutere, Ngatimoti, Dovedale and Mahana. On Wednesday it is Tasman, St Peter Chanel, Lower Moutere and Tasman. On Thursday it is Riwaka, Motueka South, and us. My favourite song is Bad Hair Day. PROGRAMME

THOUGHTS AFTER THE SHOW I thought the show was amazing. The first song we sing was We Will Rock you. I was beside Emma. I think Jason and Makayla was sang great. The last song we sing was If You Wanna Sing Out.
ORAL HEALTH WEEK
What I learn new was you actually brush your teeth three time a day and you have four different teeth. The four different teeth are called canine, molars, premolars and incisors. Before toothpaste was invented they use tobacco and honey mixed together. Yuck!  |

WINTER SPORTS

On Friday 14th September year 4, 5 and 6 had winter tournament. The sports are netball, soccer, rugby and hockey. I played netball. In my team I had Brittney, Tasha, Anika, Chiscad, Mikayla, Luisa and Zara. We went to the recreation center. We played several games and won 1 game. The team I was in Parklands 4. Our coach was Mrs Robos. It was a hot day.
OUR CARS
Last team Mr B gave us a car project. The first car I made was made out of plastic. It was battery powered. When I was trying it I snapped it. Then I made a push car. It was made out of metal and plastic. It had plastic wheels. it took my 1 hour to finish it. Then on Friday 19th of October we had our race. We went to the memorial hall my car came first out of the push cars.
On Monday 29th October after fitness we got our chairs and lined up outside our class. we went outside the Multi-purpose Room. We sat in our room starting with the youngest to the oldest. first some people talked to us and named it. Everyone walked around the multi-purpose room The name was Aniwaniwa and Whaea Sue talked to us about the name. The name means Rainbow. They named it because we all have different coloured skin. Whaea Tania also told us a story about the rainbow. Then we uncovered the Tukutuku panel. Many of people helped make the Tukutuku panel but Selina and Hinekura helped the most. When Whaea Tania told us the story she picked some Kindy kid to come up because they were wearing some of the rainbow colours. When we finished we got some chocolate as treasure at the end of the rainbow.
Last term room 3 and 4 practised Kapa Haka. We practised lots of songs we olny got to do three songs which were Poutini (the haka),Pa mai and E rona. The schools doing the Kapa Haka are
