TOKU MAHI NA RYAN

The  Turangawaewae festival is cool and I saw a truck there and I saw a bouncy castle and a rock climbing wall.

BOOK WEEK

On book week we had to dress up as a character.  I dressed up as a castaway from the book castaway .  It was fun.  We had to march around town.  It was weird.  Then we had to clang these mini cymbals together. TREASURE ISLAND

This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn.  Jim  Hawkins (played by Quin) works there.  Billy Bones  (played by Shanti) comes to stay.  He has a treasure map .  He was once a pirate, a member of Captian  Flint's crew.  He is visited by Black Dog (played by Stevie) who fights him.  Then the evil Blind pew  (played by Sasha) comes and scares him to death.

Jim gets the map . He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (played by Charlie) Squire Trelawney (played by Sarah),  Mr Dance (played by Shannen) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola.  The captain is Captain  Smollet (played by Makayla) who gets Long John (played by Madison) to collect a crew.  Long John is evil and one of Captain Flint's  pirates.  He collects all the other pirates and away they sail.

On the trip Jim  hears of a plot to get the treasure. When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade. The baddies go in search of the treasure.  An old pirate called Ben Gunn (played by Zion) who has been marooned, arrives and joins the gang.

Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island.  The pirates have nowhere to go.  There's a big fight.  The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn whom they think is a ghost of Captain Flint.  Ben Gunn screams horribly.  

They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and sail back to England.

My favourite character was Jim Hawkins

OLYMPICS

When the London Olympics were on, our rowing team got first and Valerie Adams got another gold medal because the winner had taken steroids.  The ladies rowing team got first.  We got six golds,  two silver and five bronze.  NZ got first in the triathlon.  I enjoyed watching the rowing.  The next Olympics will be held in Rio.

Olympic Career

Sarah started her Olympic career in Beijing at the 2008 Summer Olympics, in the Women's BMX. In the medals race, she ran a time of 38.805, finishing 4th. In the same event at the 2012 Summer Olympics she got a silver medal, with a time of 38.644.

Rock Da House is a singing festival. Mrs Kenny has been training us. Parklands has a choir of 70 who are performing on Thursday 30th August.  Riwaka and Motueka South schools are in it with us. Other schools like Upper and Lower Moutere, Tasman,  Dovedale and Ngatimoti are performing on other nights. We have to wear coloured wigs for one song called Bad hair day. My favourite song is Eye of the tiger. Two of our class, Jason and Makayla, are soloists and I think they sound cool.                           

                        





ORAL HEALTH WEEK      

We had oral health week at school.  We learnt lots about keeping our teeth healthy.  I did a project on brushing your teeth.  If you  don't brush your teeth you will get bacteria that cause decay and cavities  that are holes in your teeth.  Your gums can get diseases too.  So always remember to brush your teeth.

WINTER TOURNAMENT

At winter tournament I played soccer and in my team is Raven,Fergus,Jason,me,Kahhow,Kaleb and .  In the first game we played was against the other Parklands team and we won and the score was two nil to us.  Then we played Ngatimoti.  We lost.  That's the only game we lost.In the finial it was ageist the outhere parkland team. It was close we got 1 goal and the outhere team got no goals and we win the game and we win the tournament.

OPENING CEREMONY

When we got to the opening ceremony for the hall,  We had to sit on chair for 2 hours.  Then we got to have a tour of the hall.  Then we got a lolly  each.   The hall's name is Aniwaniwa then they unveiled the masterpiece.   It was cool.




KAPA HAKA FESTIVAL

At Kapa Haka we have to learn 3 songs and thay are cold Pamae,E Rona and Poutini that is our haka.  The other school are Lower Moutere, Motueka South, Riwaka and Upper Moutere when we performed which was on the 9-11-2012 NZ and it was so so so so so so so so so so cool.  At the end of it Whaea Tania said it was the best festival ever.
